Terms and conditions

Late policy

If you think you are going to be late, please let me know asap by call or text. Clients are responsible for the time they reserve for their appointment. If you are late for your appointment the treatment will still end at the designated time with no change in fee.

Cancellation policy

Clients are advised that they are reserving my time exclusively for their treatment in booking an appointment. I run a busy practice and often have a waiting list. I require at least 24 hours' notice to cancel an appointment to avoid incurring charges. For missed appointments and late cancellations, the full fee is payable. When you book a clinic session, we will take your card details, whether you choose to pay at the time or not. These details will be stored securely, and if you don't show up for your appointment or cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, your card will be charged. If you have already paid in advance, the fee will be non-refundable in case of a no-show or less notice than required. Appointments can be rescheduled or cancelled through the link in your booking confirmation email. If it is less than 24 hours until your appointment, please telephone/text 07851 307 062.

Appointments

All sessions are held in person at The Harbourside Practice in Redcliffe or The Practice Rooms on Queen’s Square, Bristol, or online via Google Meet.

Initial Consultations

Before we commence hypnotherapy, you will have an initial consultation. This lasts 1 hour 30 minutes. We will discuss any issues you wish to change and how you would like Hypnotherapy to help you. We will discuss in depth what hypnosis is, what your expectations are of it, and what you will be required to do during and in between sessions to ensure you get the most from the process. I will also give you a brief introduction to hypnosis and how you can use your imagination for your benefit.  This session is to determine whether hypnotherapy would be suitable for you and whether we are suited to work with each other. There is no obligation to continue after this session if you decide hypnotherapy is not for you, or if I feel you would benefit more from another therapeutic modality or therapist, I will let you know during the session or after via email.

Confidentiality

All information, whether verbal or written in notes, is treated as strictly private and confidential. I have a responsibility both to you as my client and to the community at large. Some moral and legal limitations therefore apply to confidentiality. These limitations mainly concern risk of serious self-harm, harm to others, and child protection issues. If a situation arises in which the moral or legal limits of confidentiality are exceeded, I will discuss this with you and explain the reasons at the time.

Data usage

Please note that all information that you provide both within emails, forms and during sessions is kept confidentially as stated above.  The information you provide me with is all required so that I can get a good idea of what your issue is so that I can assess whether hypnotherapy is right for you and to devise a treatment plan to help you achieve your therapy goals. With the new GDPR data protection regulations, I am required to inform you of how I use your data, hence this statement here. I want to be completely transparent with you so that you know that your data is safe. Your email address (if you have chosen to be placed on a mailing list on the pre-assessment form) is shared with the mailing list/newsletter provider along with your name. With this company, they are bound, like me now, by the same stricter GDPR regulations and as such they are unable to use or pass on your details. Your data is only used by myself and is not passed on to any third parties, other than in the ways listed above. For information on how your data gets used on this website, please read my privacy policy.

Commitment

Please remember that although we will do our best to address the issues you bring to the sessions, I cannot promise a cure. Our work together requires collaboration, and your active participation and motivation are essential to your progress. It is necessary for you to practice the techniques we discuss as instructed. It's important to recognise that I cannot provide any guarantees, as the success of therapy ultimately depends on your willingness to engage in the process.

Contraindications

Some medical conditions require consent from your doctor before hypnotherapy can commence. I have the right to refuse therapy if you have a contraindication which may affect it.

Conduct

I have the right to refuse therapy if you behave in an inappropriate way or if you are intoxicated with alcohol or drugs.

Payment

The initial consultation is £125, and subsequent hypnotherapy sessions are £95 per session. All online sessions are payable upon booking using debit/credit cards or Apple Pay. Clinic sessions can be paid for at the time of booking or at the clinic, where I accept cash, credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

Code of ethics and professional practice

I carry full professional indemnity and public liability insurance and I am a registered member of the UK Hypnotherapy Council. I accept and follow the principles set forth within the Code of Ethics and Professional Practice in Hypnotherapy, as laid down by the UKHC. A copy of this can be found on the UKHC’s website.
