Terms and conditions

Late policy

If you think you are going to be late, please let me know asap by call or text. Clients are responsible for the time they reserve for their appointment. If you are late for your appointment the treatment will still end at the designated time with no change in fee.

Cancellation policy

Clients are advised that in booking an appointment they are reserving my time exclusively for their treatment. I run a busy practice and often have a waiting list. I require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellation of any appointment to avoid incurring any charges. For missed appointments and late cancellations, the full fee is payable.

Please telephone/text 07851 307 062 if you need to rearrange or cancel your appointment.

Clients who persistently cancel or do not turn up to their appointments may be asked to pay for their sessions in advance.

Please understand that it is your responsibility to remember your appointment dates and times in order to avoid missed appointments and cancellation fees. You are always welcome to call and double check any appointments if you’re unsure. I do send out text message reminders using an automated service, 24 hours before your appointment time but please do not rely on these, after all technology isn't always as reliable as we would like it to be.

All sessions will be held at the following address:
The Harbourside Practice
3 Redcliffe Parade East
Bristol BS1 6SW

There is a bell for my room and I will let you know which one you will need to press when we make an appointment. Please do not press the bell before your appointment time as I may still have a client with me and this may cause disruption to the session.

There is a code access to the front door so you can let yourself into the waiting area to sit until I am ready. You will need to turn both handles (the one on the key code and the one below) to open the door.

Appointments last 50 minutes.

Before we commence hypnotherapy, you will have an initial consultation. This lasts 50 minutes and is £40. We will discuss any issues you wish to change and how you would like Hypnotherapy to help you. We will discuss in depth what hypnosis is, what your expectations are of it, and what you will be required to do during and in between sessions to ensure you get the most from the process. I will also give you a brief introduction to hypnosis and how you can use your imagination for your benefit.  In subsequent sessions we will use hypnotherapy to help you with the issues you would like to deal with, helping you to move forward, so that you can achieve your therapy goals.

All information, whether verbal or written in notes, is treated as strictly private and confidential. I have a responsibility both to you as my client and to the community at large. Some moral and legal limitations therefore apply to confidentiality. These limitations mainly concern risk of serious self-harm, harm to others, and child protection issues. If a situation arises in which the moral or legal limits of confidentiality are exceeded, I will discuss this with you and explain the reasons at the time.

Data usage

Please note that all information that you provide both within emails, forms and during sessions is kept confidentially as stated above.  The information you provide me with is all required so that I can get a good idea of what your issue is so that I can assess whether hypnotherapy is right for you and to devise a treatment plan to help you achieve your therapy goals. With the new GDPR data protection regulations, I am required to inform you of how I use your data, hence this statement here. I want to be completely transparent with you so that you know that your data is safe. I use an appointment reminder system so that you will receive a text message reminder 24hrs before each of your appointments. Your name and contact number is entered in to that system. Your email address (if you have chosen to be placed on a mailing list on the pre-assessment form) is shared with the mailing list/newsletter provider along with your name. With both of these companies, they are bound, like me now, by the same stricter GDPR regulations and as such they are unable to use or pass on your details. Your data is only used by myself and is not passed on to any third parties, other than in the ways listed above. For information on how your data gets used on this website, please read my privacy policy.

Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process. You will be taught self hypnosis and other techniques to help with your issue. You are required to practice these techniques and listen to the audio provided in between sessions as outlined. The success of therapy is dependent on your level of engagement in the process. As such, you must be committed to making your desired changes as well as the hypnotherapy process as a whole.

Some medical conditions require consent from your doctor before hypnotherapy can commence. I have the right to refuse therapy if you have a contraindication which may affect it.

I have the right to refuse therapy if you behave in an inappropriate way or if you are intoxicated with alcohol or drugs.

Hypnotherapy sessions (excluding the initial consultation) are charged at £70 unless otherwise agreed. Payment must be made in full at the end of each session unless you have already paid in advance.  I accept cash and credit/debit cards at the clinic. I no longer accept cheques. You can also pay in advance using PayPal through the fees page or by bank transfer. If you would like to pay by bank transfer, please let me know and I can provide you with my account details.
